BJs Party House is founded by BJ the Clown, whos expertise is in Theatre and Makeup design. ( BFA Theatre, 1977)

After 20 years in service to the public now,It goes without saying that BJ the Clown requires all of the performers in her troupe to study the art of clowning no matter which character they utlimately bring to life throughout their tenure with Klown Kapers Inc.

The true art of clowning is a dying profession- when in fact, it should be a progressive art form that cherishes the circus and street performances of its past origin,while encouraging the synthesis of the arts( currently evidenced in the new age success of the Cirque de Soleil clown troupes of France and Canada, and now . Las Vegas and Orlando (Florida.)

With the closing of the Clown College of The Barnum & Bailey Circus, in Sarasota Florida,over 15 years ago,.....a distinct and truly historical place for the learning of the art of circus clowning is no longer available( to the general public) -as a training option.for professional career placement

.This tragedy has dealt a huge blow to this essential art form in modern society

. I remember the circus days of my youth, in New York, when Barnum and Bailey came to town.Those gigantic spectacle shows provided amazing animals, costumes, musicians and Ringer masters, but to me the clowns provided those important, thought provoking moments of introspection into the human condition and sheer lifting of the audience from the reality of daily life !To me,Those clowns (often 30 of them,through their antics ,trials, tribulations and success'stole the show, every time.!

The most famous clown in the world was the American,, EmmetKelly@, his performances would transcends all time and place.. ....... and ....those experiences we shared with him,some forty years ago,were universal to us all, ........it made us laugh and it made us cry. His genius followed in the footsteps of Charlie Chaplin and Butste Keeton, and even Red Skelton! They were the greats of their time!!Who will be the Greats of our time?

This is what we strive for today.The laughter, the introspection, through good times and bad, it is the duty of the clown today (mostly street performers now) to lift society out of its monotony and its indifference and keep the humanity and the common bond between us ,( the love and the laughter), alive and in the forefront, because if we cant look at ourselves and laugh from time to time, where is the joy of living?.

BJs Party House is dedicated to the notion that "clowning around"is an attainable profession for the talented , the innovative and the dedicated among us. Gone are the days of dreaming to "run away and join the circus"!

Instead, performing artists need to create the venue themselves and find the opportunities on the local, state wide and National levels, to make it happen.
